Robert Cook, a self-taught artist, was born in 1948. Cook uses acrylic and layered glazing on textured canvas to complete an old-world finish that most mistake for oils. Cook's landscapes in particular are very calming and peaceful. Cook has perfected a unique technique of hand painting and embellishing each one of his canvas prints. Each image is treated during several hours of hand embellishment that creates a copy as close to the original as possible. Cook paints "moods", impressions of late evening, early morning, or feelings of melancholy or lonesomeness. Cook describes the moods as "The feeling you get when fall comes and the shadows change." Cook has painted professionally since 1989.
