More Information: Tim Cotterill was born in Leicester, England, in 1950, and left school at fifteen to complete a six-year engineering apprenticeship. This education left Cotterill with a strong understanding of metal and its properties. Intrigued with metalworking, Tim Cotterill moved into the sculpture of radical wheeled vehicles, later finding his peak interest in the design of animals and birds in the 70's and 80's. Immigrating to California in 1990, Tim Cotterill exhibited and sold his art all across America. These new high-energy surroundings brought out the fun in his art. Tim is now fully focused on Frogs and occasionally, Koi and Geckos. "Frogman" Tim Cotterill’s bronze sculptures capture the whimsical character, the jewel like quality, and the pure joy of these little creatures. "When we smile and laugh it release endorphins all through our body and mind. The more we smile, laugh, and feel happy, the healthier we become. Frogs are fun creatures! I have tried to capture their individual spirit; their fun and their joy. Life is fun! I hope my art brings more happiness and joy into your life." - Tim Cotterill "Frogman" Similar to his frog series, Cotterill’s Koi captures the spirit of the fish, exploring their different patterns, color schemes and the character of the animals. Like his Frog Series, the Koi are bronze sculptures with a patina finish. |
