Nano Lopez is an artist gifted with the rare ability to see the world as a child does, through a lens of exploration, wonder, and creativity. He is deeply fascinated by the often troubling mysteries of life and its inherent struggles.
Born in 1955 in Bogotá, Colombia, Nano began his artistic journey at the age of 23, working as an apprentice on monumental-scale carvings in marble and granite, as well as fabricating steel. In 1983, he moved to the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Over the next four years, he worked at various bronze foundries in the region, further developing his skills in welding, tooling, and patinas. This experience helped shape him into the artist we admire today.
