The innocence of a child's heart,
Begins the game of life... at start.
We roll the dice to move ahead,
So unaware and full of dread.
Wishing Candyland is full of sweets,
We taste this world and all its treats.
To find a friend kids flip a card,
But a joker's tongue can leave them scarred.
We want someone who's on our side,
To hop in our car and take the ride.
Yet like a game, to trap a mouse,
You play a monkey to catch a spouse.
We'll climb life's ladders seeking to win,
But with one wrong move we slide to sin.
These games we play are often tough,
With love and hate and jagged stuff.
Yet deep inside the child still stays,
Recalling those simpler, fun-filled days.
Our adult games would be surely hid,
If we could play now, as we once did.
Who is Paul B. Lotz
While attending school in Italy, I was inspired by the old Renaissance masters who were able to carve the human form with perfect detail and emotional depth. This style initially charged my interest to begin ceramic sculpting in 2010. I wanted to capture hidden feelings and express people in their most private state, both mentally and physically in keeping with a classical style.
